Welcome to the joint web-site of Praskolesy and Felsonyek!
It is not usual, that two cities have kreated a joint web-site – we have two reasons for that.
Praskolesy with its 800 inhabitants located in Central Bohemia; some 40 kilometres West of Prague. Felsonyek is a Hungarian location with similar size; some 130 km South – Southwest of Budapest, ca 30 km East of Balaton. Distance between the two locations is more than 600 km. Still, that distance does not prevent us from building tight and fruitful cooperation between us. Cooperation covers may aspects of community life. We closely follow development of our partner; we share our plans for the future, jointly rejoice in success of the partner; we consult how to face and solve problems. That is one reason why we run a joint web-site.
The other reason is: within the framework of that general partnership, Felsonyek and Praskolesy jointly work on an important project. It is within the EU’s Life-long Learning Programme, under ’Comenius Regio Partnership’. After our successful (joint) application, EU supports (funds) our 2-year common work. Under the title of „From small local communities to Europe” , we explore ways and means as to how to help development of „European identification” in our children, to help them feel better they are ’European citizens’. Leading force of that common work is the municipalities of the two locations.
We are fully convinced that our cooperation will be successful; together we are stronger than two of us combined. Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half –sorrow. We most willingly share our experience also with our visitors, just following the inscription on villas in Roman Empire:
„Bonus intra, melior exi”
„Come in to us as a good person; leave us as an even better.”
